Mission of the Position

 

Works with the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (PFG60 NVH) group assisting with projects on all different levels throughout the co-op program.

 

Team Summary:

 

PFG60 NVH is responsible for NVH attributes of products in development. The group perform testing and analysis activities for product/system creation, and/or verification for innovation and development projects, utilizing internal and external resources. Promote NVH best practices in the design/engineering processes.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

Supports product engineering by assessing and analyzing NVH performance of MPT products to meet customer requirements. Assist with the use of NVH instrumentation, hardware and software of PFG60. Work with the team to improve NVH development methods and the integration into existing/emerging engineering development processes. Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system. Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner. Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Expected Learning Outcomes:     Fundamental understanding of powertrain products noise and vibration performance (traditional and electrified).     Practical experience in setting up, measuring, and analyzing data in noise and vibrations tests.     Understanding of how product noise and vibration performance affects vehicle quality.     Experience reporting technical data in written reports, presentations, electronic media and talking in front of an engineering audience. Health & Safety responsibilities:      Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.      Report unsafe conditions immediately.      Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.      Follow safety rules.      Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.      Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge. Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers. Treat everyone with dignity, trust and respect. Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

 

Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school. Understanding the basics of engineering theory and principles of design. Understanding the basics of control systems. Working knowledge in computer-based software, organizational/communication skills, ability to work with others in a team environment.
  Work Environment

 

Office environment; minimum travel required. 

 

While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
