Micron is seeking an accomplished Construction Quantity Surveyor to support our New York Expansion efforts in our new site of Clay, New York! This position will play a pivotal role in the construction and engineering sectors, handling all costs related to building projects for our Expansion in Clay. The primary goal for the Quantity Surveyor is to ensure projects are completed within budget, on time, and aligned to target goals. This team member is crucial not just for cost management, but also for boosting value for money, while maintaining the required standards and quality for the entire site construction project.This role will be a hybrid position based out of our Clay, New York facility. Relocation will be provided to candidates that are selected for the position if needed. Until we have viable space, remote work will be permitted with the intent of relocation.
Responsibilities:Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labor costs.Preparing, negotiating, and analyzing costs for tenders and contracts.Coordination of work effort across multi-functional teamsEvaluating completed work and arranging for paymentsPartnering with our local teams to ensure that the project roadmap and strategy is aligned to our overall Micron goals of the expansion projectQualifications and SkillsPreparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.Performing risk, value management, and cost control during construction.Providing advice on contractual claims and disputes.Supervising changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly.Ensuring compliance with health and safety laws.Confirmed working experience in Quantity Surveying.Strong understanding of construction, material, and contract law is crucial.Skills in project management and budgeting are immensely helpfulEducation and Certification RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Applicable experience in the role will be considered in lieu of formal education requirementsMembership or accreditation from recognized professional bodies such as RICS or CIOB preferredThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$79,000.00 - $135,000.00Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
