NYSERDA Hub Program Coordinator - Oriskany, NY
The Association Program Coordinator II is primarily responsible for providing coordination for the NYSERDA Mohawk Valley Clean Energy Hub. The Coordinator will support the NYSERDA Hub Director and assist with financial recordkeeping for the programs and contracts. Handle general recordkeeping and database management, performing routine data collection and compilation. The primary audience will include residential utility customers of owner-occupied and rental housing, residents living within Environmental Justice and Disadvantaged Communities, community-based organizations, small businesses, and local institutions including schools, religious organizations, and local governments. Direct constituents to Hub energy advisors and resources throughout the Mohawk Valley Clean Energy Hub region. The individual will utilize existing program resources and materials in program work, will assist in preparing various educational materials, and coordinate event registration and catered and non-catered events. The position also includes some program delivery, direction and management responsibilities.

    

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Education. Associate’s Degree with 2 yrs. transferrable program/functional experience may substitute for Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience relevant to the role of the position including financial recordkeeping.

Experience in utilizing complex software and software manipulations.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to plan and organize work responsibilities according to priorities developed with team members and immediate supervisor.

Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse audiences.

Able to communicate effectively through verbal, written (newsletters, email, press releases, etc.) and visual and audio means (e.g. video, audio, computers, social media).

Demonstrated ability to successfully market program through social, print, and other media.

Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver presentations to groups of various sizes.

Demonstrated ability in conducting meetings for internal and external groups and planning events for the public. 

Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.

Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages is highly desirable.

Experience working with, and engaging with community stakeholders, especially those with limited income.

Experience with prioritizing work responsibilities.

Aptitude for digital technologies and strategies for communication applications.  Empathy, sincerity, and an ability to find a silver lining when faced with challenges.

Position Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Program Delivery – 10%

Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association staff to achieve program delivery goals.

Teach existing educational programs and activities in support of Clean Energy education programming on an as needed basis.

Foster acceptance of program, methods and policies to address community and individual needs and consider diverse audiences.

May be involved in multidisciplinary team efforts to deliver program. Utilize a variety of proven educational methodologies.

May assist in teaching innovative educational programs.

May assist in multi-association team efforts to deliver program.

May assist in providing moderately complex nonstandard responses.

Represent CCE before the public, community leaders, government officials, Cornell or other land grant universities in a professional manner as part of program delivery.

Administrative Direction – 5%

Assist the NYSERDA Hub Director with non-complex administrative tasks in the planning of educational programs.

Provide input in planning the delivery of established educational program goals.

Administrative Management – 5%

Provide moderate-complexity administrative tasks in guiding the implementation of strategies for the Mohawk Valley Clean Energy Hub.

Solve problems and resolve conflicts that arise within the program utilizing appropriate policies and procedures and with supervisor guidance as needed.

Administrative Coordination/Operation – 75%

Assist with financial coordination of programs to include planning for program expenses and budgets as well as financial resources for program continuance and enhancement.

Complete necessary written documentation as required by program and funders.

Collect, input and update data, provide reports, graphs and charts as needed.

Submit program related expenses for grants and contracts.

Serve as an accessible resource to the Mohawk Valley Clean Energy Hub, assisting with follow-up on programs initiatives.

Travel to various locations in an effort to meet program material and marketing needs. Examples include but are not limited to purchasing and/or delivering program materials, attending meetings, taking pictures and notes, etc.

Collect evaluation data from program participants based on existing framework.

Collect program needs assessment.

Maintain confidentiality of information regarding all program participants and families.

Accurately collect, prepare and maintain paperwork, participant files and database as required based on supervisor, association and funding source requirements.

Complete required reports in manner specified by supervisor, association or funding sources by established deadlines or as requested.

Contribute to the preparation of reports for funders, advisory committees, Board and others as necessary. Assist with reporting activities through written/oral presentations.

Coordinate registration, set-up, prepare resources, for special projects, and other extension association activities as assigned.

Professional Improvement – 5%

In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes and Association priorities.

Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension and perform other duties as assigned.

Health and Safety – Applied to all duties and functions

Support the Association to maintain a safe working environment.

Be familiar with and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, Association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard.

Act proactively to prevent accidents/injuries and communicate hazards to supervisors when identified.

Position Details

This is a full-time (37.5 hrs/week), benefits eligible, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $20.00/hr. The NYSERDA Hub Program Coordinator will work on-site at the CCE Oneida office in Oriskany, NY.
