Assets include offshore meteorological masts, wind turbines, offshore transmission assets including onshore and offshore substations, foundations and subsea cables. The Technician role is to ensure that these services are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with contractual requirements, standards and specifications. Organisational Context You will be part of a team and responsible for the delivery of the onshore and/or offshore site day to day activities required to be delivered under the O&M contract/s or as additional services. This role is likely to requires regular communication with internal technicians and external contractors. You will work closely with the Offshore and UK&I O&M teams as well as other RES departments including HSE, Technical and Engineering. Key Accountabilities Delivery of operation and maintenance services, including but not limited to:Delivery the onshore and offshore electrical & mechanical work.Inspection and planned maintenance of onshore and offshore assets.Reactive maintenance – depending on the type of fault, reactive maintenance may require onshore and/or offshore site visits at short notice.Housekeeping.Delivery of retrofits.Coordination of the site works including monitoring of RES’s contraction performance.Producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.Compliance with site safety rules including escalation and reporting of any safety, environmental and operational issues.Inspection and maintenance of RES’s tools, equipment and PPE.Provision of relevant information for reports to issue to client. Competency and skills to: Deliver planned and reactive offshore activities.Work effectively alone and as part of a team.Maintain complex system involving difficult access.On-Call: depending on your knowledge and experience, you may be expected to participate in a call out rota to provide emergency response outside of normal working hours.Due to the nature of the offshore environment the role requires a flexible approach to the working days and hours requiring working outside normal working hours.The role also includes the following department responsibilities:Support the production and review of procedures, processes and technical literature.Draft and/or provide inputs into proposals and related cost books. Knowledge you will need:Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.Experience with data logging and communication systems.LV & mechanical fault-finding and analysis.Knowledge of wind turbines and related equipment.Knowledge of balance of plant applicable to offshore wind farms.Knowledge of HV systems.Knowledge of HV safety rules.Awareness of working at height and within a confined space. Skills you will need:Excellent attitude to safety.Site Management.Technical capability for the evaluation of complex equipment.Capable of working offshore and at height.Physically fit, the role will require climbing/transferring to offshore structures.Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel). Qualifications you will need: Experience of working in multidiscipline teams.Experience in mechanical, electrical, power electronics, and hydraulic maintenance activities and troubleshooting.Experience of the wind industry.Experience offshore working.Experience of transmission systems.Experience working at height (desirable). Qualifications you have: An NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, but background in technical discipline.GWO Training (desirable, however full training will be given)IRATA or rigging qualification (desirable).Hold a full driving licence At RES we celebrate difference as we know it makes our company a great place to work.
