GENERAL FUNCTION

The Manufacturing Team Lead ensures production employees are actively engaged to meet daily production standards within quality parameters in order to achieve the production plan

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead by example, following all company policies, procedures and processes Works safety and maintains an organized, clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Reports safety hazards and work-related injuries to supervision immediately Ensure product meets quality standards Ensures necessary production material and equipment is available based on production plan Coordinates labor coverage for the shift and makes necessary adjustments to meet production schedule, hourly targets and achieve efficiency target Organizes work throughout the shift and assists employees as needed Uses basic problem solving skills to determine root cause and minimize downtime Utilizes SAP/MES and other systems to report production, scrap, downtime, problems and issues impacting department goals Identifies opportunities, provides ideas/solutions and supports continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities Effectively cross trains personnel and recommends skill development to achieve departmental goals Provides accurate feedback to the supervisor with regard to employee performance (attendance/work) Conduct team huddles and communicate information received in the DDS meeting regarding safety, quality, priorities, performance and production schedule Minimizes conflict within the department and encourages open lines of communication Maintain professionalism with all employees and build good rapport Treat employees fairly, credibility, respectfully Reports problems and concerns regarding safety, quality, equipment and processes to supporting resources and supervisor Be flexible in assuming additional responsibilities to support department goals and business needs Knowledgeable of all processes and standard work Follow processes and take pride in your work to minimize errors

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED 3+ Years of Manufacturing Experience Basic ability to read and understand both written and spoken English instructions and directions in order to safely and effectively perform job duties (ex. ability to read and understand job safety requirements and procedures, instructions and directions from supervisors, lead, or co-workers) Basic Math Skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide) Basic knowledge of and ability to use powered and pneumatic hand tools Ability to:

Work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment and prioritize workload

Work independently with minimum supervision

Interact positively with others within the department and the organization

Work overtime, weekends, and holidays

Lift up to 40lbs occasionally throughout shift

Stand and walk consistently for 8-10 hours

Occasionally assemble small parts requiring manual dexterity for shift duration

Occasionally bend, stoop, and reach at shoulder level for shift duration

Move continuously at work station throughout shift

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
