Job Summary: The Locksmith installs, maintains, and repairs locks, key systems, and door hardware for a specified operating component of the properties. Work efficiently with minimal supervision, and have a willingness to work as a team. Responsibilities Ensure the security of Oasis at Death Valley property, its guests, and employees by maintaining and upgrading locking systems, discriminately distributing company keys, and keeping records of all company locksmith related assignments Responsible for the maintenance and repair of lock systems, both mechanical and electronic. Responsible for maintaining an accurate key inventory for the Oasis at Death Valley, Ranch and Inn. Accountable for the accurate documentation (in the Computerized Maintenance Management System) of labor hours expended and matierials consumed. May, on occasion, be called upon after hours to provide emergency access to buildings or rooms within buildings Perform all assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager, assuring quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness. Install, adjust, and service mechanical and electronic locking systems by using hand tools and electronic equipment. Ensure all door locks, panic hardware, locking mechanisms, electronic strikes, and other door hardware are maintained according to manufacturer’s recommendations and preventative maintenance schedule. Ensure all Department work orders are completed timely and efficiently keeping guest service in foremost consideration. Assist with departmental key audits and Locksmith work requirements outlined in the Oasis at Death Valley LLC Key Policy. Responsible for the security and safety of company equipment assigned to the locksmith shop. Maintain an up-to-date record keeping system of key distribution and noting areas susceptible to key loss and abuse so preventative actions can be taken. Maintain discretion concerning knowledge and information of master keys and existing systems. Oversee the distribution of keys to work areas in all departments as required, with written consent from the appropriate director. Responsible for responding to afterhours emergency callouts. Responsible for following and enforcing all company safety procedures. Accurately enter all pertinent information into the department EAM system in a timely and consistent manner. Other duties as assigned Qualifications A valid driver’s license. At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance and locksmith industry. Minimum 3-4 years’ experience and a diploma for professional locksmithing Experience and expertise with Southco electronic lock systems is preferred. Experience and expertise with a similar electronic lock system is required. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be at least 19 years of age and possess a valid drivers license. Physical Requirements include: Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. Ability to climb and work from a ladder up to 40 feet from ground level.
