12 hour night shift
JOB SUMMARY: Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process as a standard, incorporating elements of holistic family centered care through the collection, verification and organization of data about a patient’s health status, planning for care, implementation of the plan and evaluation.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC: Provides direct patient care in the Labor and Delivery and Postpartum/Newborn as well as Neonatal Intensive Care setting. Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including: fetal monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Participates in performance improvement activities.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Sufficient experience to demonstrate ability to accept responsibility as a staff RN (job specific).
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC: One or more years of experience is required in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn care. One or more years of experience is preferred in a neonatal intensive care unit.
EDUCATION: Graduate of professional school of nursing.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC: Current Fetal Monitoring course is preferred. Completion of a cardiac monitoring course is preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification required. Certification in Med/Surg and /or Geriatric Nursing is required.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC: NNR is required. Inpatient obstetrics certification is preferred. STABLE class is required within one year. Certification in Neonatal IV Therapy within one year.
OTHER: Abilty to operate fax machine, copier, telephone, and computer. Tolerance for body secretions, strong odors, potential exposure to disease, various body fluids and varied environmental conditions.
