Responsibilities
Position Summary:The Obstetrical Technician/UC is responsible for supporting Registered Nurses and Providers in the MCH unit with patient care clerical duties and other unit operations deemed as necessary. They will function as an OB tech by assisting with cesarean section vaginal deliveries and other procedures. They must communicate effectively with patient care team members. Participates in the orientation of new employees and works with other members of the care team. Accountable for assigned duties in a manner that meets standards. Works in a collaborative manner with patient care team members and supports the roles of all coworkers.


Qualifications
Minimum:Two years experience as OB Tech or Scrub Tech experience; OR completion of Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting is required.Current BLS Certificate CT CPRBLS is required.Good working knowledge of patient care is required. Good working knowledge of medical terminology is required. 

Preferred:

One year experience as CNA EMT or OB Unit Clerk experience is preferred.
