Job Description:

FT Day shift 4 - 10 hour shifts

7p- 5:30a

The OB Technologist (OBT) purpose includes primary scrub person/assistant for operative procedures; may perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse

Job Duties

Assists the RN with circulating duties as needed to carry out the implementation of appropriate interventions; works with circulator and other room staff to perform post-case cleaning duties.Primary duties include scrubbing, setting up cases, and passing instruments or assisting physicians.Cut suture material as directed by surgeon and apply electrocautery to clamp on bleeders under the direct supervision of the surgeon.Prepare and organize the sterile instruments and equipment for procedures, prepare sutures and sterile solutions.

Qualifications

OB Technologists must graduate from a Surgical Tech program or have comparable military training. Certification is required
