What You’ll Do: + OBD System Calibration: Perform precise OBD calibrations for internal combustion engines and hybrid/electric powertrains to ensure compliance with EPA, CARB, and global emissions standards. + Diagnostic Strategy & Data Analysis: Collaborate with engineering teams to design, validate, and refine diagnostic strategies (for systems such as oxygen sensors, EGR, and fuel systems) while using tools like MATLAB, ETAS INCA, CANalyzer, and dSPACE for data collection and analysis. + Vehicle Testing: Conduct comprehensive on-road and lab vehicle testing to validate OBD functionality and ensure optimal emissions control and drivability under varied driving conditions. + Hardware & Software Integration: Assist with the installation, integration, and validation of new hardware and software systems in both prototype and production vehicles. + Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve calibration-related issues to maintain peak performance and adherence to emissions requirements. + Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of calibration procedures, test results, and troubleshooting actions; share insights with team members and stakeholders to continuously improve processes. + Technical Support: Provide hands-on expertise during vehicle emissions testing and certification processes, ensuring all OBD-related concerns are promptly addressed. Who We’re Looking For: + Educational Background: An Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Technology/Engineering (or equivalent professional experience) is preferred. + Industry Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on automotive calibration experience, with a primary focus on OBD systems. + Technical Proficiency: Competence with diagnostic and calibration software and tools such as ETAS INCA, dSPACE, MATLAB, and CAN-based systems (e.g., CANalyzer). + Regulatory Know-How: A solid understanding of OBD-II protocols and emissions regulations (EPA, CARB) with experience in regulatory testing and certification processes. + Problem-Solving & Teamwork: Ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues and work effectively within a cross-functional team. + Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration.
