Job Title:Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Location:Detroit, MI Inpatient/Outpatient:10% Inpatient Rounding, 90% Outpatient Office Case Load:100% Adult Female. Position Overview: Ascension Medical Group Michigan is seeking aFull-Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP)– Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – to join our busy OBGYN Urogynecology practice. This position involves rounding atSt. John MorossandMacomb Oakland-Warren, with a typical work schedule of8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, withno weekendsandno call. The APP will have a variety of responsibilities, including rounding on surgical patients at both hospitals, conducting post-operative appointments, triaging patients, assisting with procedures, and seeing new patients alongside the physician. This is a fast-paced and rewarding practice with a strong support team, including front desk staff, Medical Assistants (MAs), and Registered Nurses (RNs), who have been together for many years and provide excellent collaboration and care. Weekend requirement– No. Call requirement– No. OR Time– No. In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.| Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.| Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.| Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Licensure / Certification / Registration: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. Master's degree preferred. Work Experience: 1-2 years of recent and relevant work experience as a Certified Nurse Practitioner with 1st Assistant in the OR in Neurosurgery or Orthopedic Spine Surgery. Qualifications: · NP – Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) · PA – Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) · NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan · PA – Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification · Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) · National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. · DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.
