OBIEE Business Intelligence Developer
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 6 Months
The successful candidate will demonstrate awareness of data storage and management techniques used for data warehouses, data marts, ad-hoc analysis, reporting, dashboard creation, and security and filtering by role. This position will be responsible for creation, maintenance and monitoring of the Oracle Bl applications and infrastructure, as well as creation of new reports and dashboards to assist executive and managerial levels within EOLWD in analyzing the business needs to Client the customers. The candidate must be self-starting, have a strong attention to detail and accuracy, and able to fill multiple roles within the Oracle Bl environment
Special Duties and Requirements:
Must be willing and able to work other than normal work hours in an emergency to test new software, resolve critical system problems and/or perform production system maintenance. Must be willing to serve on periodical stand by duty when deemed necessary by management. Must be willing and able occasionally respond to telephone calls (or other means of communication) received. Support Daily Operations. Identify, implement and test patches and upgrades and maintain up-to-date documentation of OBIEE-related configuration. Responsible for administration, which includes giving access to users, assigning users to different groups and giving permissions on different dashboards and objects etc. Must have experience in configuring Multi User Development Environment, OBIEE scheduler, Usage Tracking, Security integration between RPD and BI Publisher, Repository Server and Presentation Server configuration changes, Cluster Configurations, Cache etc.
Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Bl analysts and internal customers to understand, analyze.
Interpret business requirements and technical specifications.
Understand, design and develop business intelligence solution components and reports, including Database integration, ETL processes, data warehouse architecture, Report and dashboard creation, KPI and analytics integration.
Create reports as requested and design delivery mechanisms and proactive notifications for these reports, and provide on-going analytical and technical support.
Assist with the conversion of existing reports to the Oracle enterprise Bl infrastructure toolset.
Build, manage, and maintain common components and metadata layer attributes and metrics as required by the business.
Create, maintain and monitor the Oracle BI application infrastructure on development, test and production environment.
Collaborate with Oracle Database Administrators for the Warehouse database design, data model, storage, security, performance and data environment requirements.
Determine testing needed to ensure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions.
Perform maintenance and support of existing applications.
Monitor the ETL processes, and understand, research, and correct errors should they arise.
Proactively work with members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by scope, timelines, and budgets.
Create and maintain technical documentation.
Participate in peer reviews on specifications, design and code.
Works with development teams to resolve development issues.
Work closely with QA and Operations to ensure smooth QA and deployment of applications.
Work with project teams to plan integration and implementation strategies.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Experience in both Presentation and Repository layers of OBIEE.Utilize the appropriate business intelligence functionality to meet the functional requirements (dashboards, formatted reports, grid reports).
4+ years hands-on experience in designing and developing OBIEE RPD metadata. Create, modify and maintain OBIEE RPD file in version 11.
Clearly communicate business intelligence feature options and the challenges and benefits of using the options. Share options and recommendations in EDW design reviews.
Strong development experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL to write queries. Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages.
Knowledge of database architecture and design for Business Intelligence.
Knowledge of database indexing and tuning in Oracle Database.
Solid understanding of ETL processes and procedures.
Experience in Oracle Warehouse builder or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), JavaScript and Java technologies is a plus.
Solid understanding of best practices for dashboard development and data visualization techniques.
Ability to interpret requirements and technical specifications and translate them into visual representations of information.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience performing Unit, Functional, Regression, Integration and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Qualifications:
Minimum 4 plus years of Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), Web Logic and Application Server experience. Must have OBIEE trouble shooting and some administrator skills.
3-6 years experience in Information Technology.
Experience in software development life-cycle.
Applied knowledge in the development of n-Tier 00 system architectures.
Applied knowledge of Design Patterns.
Knowledge of and/or experience with Web Services Standards (SOAP, XML, WSDL, UDDI) a plus.
Experience with standard internet protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, POP, FTP, SMTP Applied knowledge of user interface technologies (HTML, JavaScript, JSP). Solid Experience in Oracle, PL/SQL and UNIX shell scripting Applied knowledge of back-end connectivity to database systems. Must be highly organized and detail-orientated.
