Responsibilities and duties
The incumbent will work with the UN Office and the UN IT division to perform the tasks listed in the task column. Strong SQL skills are essential.
Under the auspices of the team leader, the incumbent:
• will prepare and upload data for IPSAS compliant PeopleSoft reporting trees
• will run and prepare reports, including PeopleSoft queries and OBIEE extracts
• will create ETLs to extract data from the UN PeopleSoft databases
• will create ad hoc queries and extracts to defined business requirements using tools such as Toad and Benthic
Certifications
It would be advantageous, but not essential to be certified in:
Oracle: Oracle Database 11g: SQL
Oracle: Oracle Database 11g: Administration
Oracle: OBIEE reporting tool
Technical experience requirements:
Experience in the following (or near equivalent) is required
ETL Tools: Ascential DataStage 8.1/7.5,
Reporting Tools: Ideally OBIEE, but Cognos, Business Objects also acceptable, XML publisher
Data Modeling Tools: Erwin, or other modeling tool
Databases and extraction: Oracle 11g/10g/9i/8i MS SQL Server 2000/2003/2005, MS Access Shell Scripts, Benthic or Toad client interface tool
Operating Systems: MS Windows, Solaris and Windows 2000
ERP Software: PeopleSoft Financials, (General Ledger)
Educational and experience requirements
• University degree in a technical subject or business. Ideally in engineering or computer science.
• 5 years experience of data extraction, ETL tools and SQL
• Relevant experience in finance/accounting related functions. 5 years experience with PeopleSoft desirable, especially the GL and reporting modules.
• Excellent analytical skills or experience in reconciliation
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
