Observability Engineering Lead Analyst - C13 - CHENNAI

The Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive the rollout of Observability solutions and configurations, including alert and event management, across the USPB and CGW portfolio of applications.

Responsibilities:

Drive rollout of Observability solutions and configurations across USPB and CGW applications.Build and engineer solutions that fit requirements. Understand application ecosystems and drive optimal solutions and configurations, including around alert management.Implement and operate vendor tools, including operations to ensure vendor tools are running and configure solutions to provide best in class Observability for application.Partner with stakeholder teams including production management, application developers and performance test teams to understand requirements and business needs, and deliver optimal solutions.Partner with vendors to maximize features in Observability tooling, and demonstrate new capabilities to broad community of end users.Project manage rollouts and implementations to ensure on-time delivery of solutions with quality.Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmapEnsure that all integration of functions meet business goalsDefine necessary system enhancements to deploy new products, configurations and process enhancementsRecommend product customizationIdentify problem causality, business impact and root causesExhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and servicesAdvise or mentor junior team membersImpact the engineering function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating servicesAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

6-10 years of relevant experience in an Engineering roleExperience in Observability tool configurations to maximize outcomes and meet business needs. Tooling includes Grafana,AppDynamics, Evolven, Splunk, ELK, Aternity, CloudWatchStrong understanding of abroad range of tech stacks including Java app servers, microservices, Openshift/ Kubernetes, AWS, TIBCO, Kafka, MainframeOpenTelemetry Experience is a plusDeveloper experience with Java, C and/or scripting languages is a plusDatabase experience is a plusExperience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environmentProject Management experienceConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationComprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practicesDemonstrated analytic/diagnostic skillsAbility to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teamsAbility to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiativeAbility to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirementsProven track record of operational process change and improvement

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster’s degree preferred
