Implement and manage observability solutions to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of applications and infrastructure. Utilize observability tools, including Dynatrace.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Design, implement, maintain, and drive continuous improvement and adoption of observability solutions, using Dynatrace and other tools, to monitor application performance, infrastructure health, and user experience.Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time insights into system performance and issues and for tracking key metrics.Create custom monitors and metrics for maintaining the environment when desired telemetry is unavailable.Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.Conduct regular assessments of observability tools and practices, recommending improvements and optimizations.Provide training and support to team members on the use of observability tools and best practices.Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate observability practices into the software development lifecycle.Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Five or more years of experience as an Observability Engineer or similar role. Five or more years of experience utilizing observability tools and practices, including monitoring, logging, and tracing.Four or more years of Dynatrace experience, including configuration, customization, and troubleshooting. Two or more years of experience with other observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, creating custom metrics and alerts.Experience with DevOps (development and operations) practices and tools, including CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous deployment) pipelines, Ansible, and BitbucketGIT.Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) processes and IT service management tools such as Jira.Five or more years of technical working knowledge and monitoring various operating environments including (Windows, Linux, Webshpere, Tomcat, Openshift, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL).Strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
