OBSTETRICS NURSE TEAM LEADER & CLINICAL EDUCATOR

SCHEDULE: FULLTIME MONDAY - FRIDAY 0700-1530

JOB SUMMARY:

This position serves to primarily assist the Nurse Manager in overseeing patient care while maintaining the highest standards of care and patient safety.  The nurse will provide leadership to the team and ensure the flow of communication in addition to regular nursing duties within the scope of the professional license.  Assists in supervision of staff under direction of department manager. Responsible for developing an effective and efficient interpersonal relationship with new OB patients and assisting the patient through the pregnancy by providing support, encouragement, and education.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred. Certification/Licensure in the States of Iowa. Previous acute or clinic experience and interest in a leadership role. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New Employee certify within three (3) months after hire date. Current ACLS, NRP and STABLE certifications. (New employees should obtain per guidelines of the Education Course Requirements policy.) Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others. Ability to communicate well verbally. Must work effectively as a member of a team. Basic computer knowledge Technical and Critical Thinking Skills in relation to sound nursing judgment Knowledge of skilled nursing practices.
