Occup Therapist Acute - PRN

Provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.

Reports to: Director - Rehab Services or Director - IRU

Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
Drag Edit DeleteImplements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.Drag Edit DeleteDocuments subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
Drag Edit DeleteEducates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.Drag Edit DeletePlans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
Drag Edit DeleteSupervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy - RequiredDrag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Certifications:
BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hireDrag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Licenses: State of Tennessee Occupational Therapist licensure - Required
