**Job Title:** Occupational Health and Safety Research Scientist **Location:** Charlotte, NC, EI - Canada Home Office, Palo Alto, CA, Remote/Home Based, Washington, D.C. **Job Summary and Description:** EPRI is seeking an occupational health and safety scientist with a deep research background to apply his or her in-depth knowledge to a variety of electric industry safety topics, from generation to transmission, distribution, and end use. The successful applicant will possess excellent qualitative and quantitative research and analytical skills, exemplary capability in concisely and accurately expressing technical results and ideas in written form, and a collaboration mindset. The position will have increasing responsibility for contributing to the development of research plans and proposals, managing research projects, conducting original research, and communicating research results to EPRI members and external stakeholders via reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed literature. This position is well suited for individuals with a penchant for conducting and publishing research of outstanding quality and who can anticipate and lead cutting edge research. **The successful candidate will:** + Participate in occupational safety and industrial hygiene projects. + Serve as a subject matter expert on OHS issues relevant to the electric utility industry. + Work across EPRI research areas on OHS-related topics. + Conduct literature reviews and lead and support development of technical reports, issue briefs and other communications on relevant topics. + Assist in the management of simple to more complex projects, including budgets, contractors, deliverable development, and schedule. + Work directly with EPRI staff and be comfortable interacting with EPRI members and other stakeholders. + Assist Project/Program Managers in assessing customer needs, formulating technical approaches, and preparing proposals. + Present and communicate research findings in a variety of fora, including sponsor meetings and scientific and industry conferences. + Publish technical papers in areas of expertise. + Assist Program Manager in preparing for, and conducting, formal and informal member advisory committee and working group meetings. **Education & Experience:** + PhD in safety science, safety engineering, occupational health, or related field strongly preferred. + Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus. **Work Setting:** + This position is open to a hybrid, onsite or remote work setting while the ideal candidate would be in proximity to an EPRI office. Candidates that may not be in proximity to an EPRI office will still be considered. **The ideal candidate will:** + Have experience with project management. + Have demonstrated quantitative skills in data analysis, including hands-on experience with SAS and/or R. + Have experience with occupational health and safety management, reporting, and policy, and experience with frontline workers within the electric and/or gas utility industry or organizations directly supporting these industries. + Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. + Be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision in a complex organization. + Be adept at working well with others in a cross-functional setting. + Be able to rapidly learn and assimilate new information. The salary range for this position is $103,740 USD to $118,020 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
