In this role, you will provide for and deliver health and safety services to company employees. Job functions focus on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from occupational hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides primary nursing care, emergency services and management of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries; provides follow-up care and makes appropriate referrals as necessary; requires experience and skill in the following: use of automatic external defibrillator (AED), physical assessment, and emergency care. Position occasionally provides phone consultations with on-site facility emergency response teams during off shift medical emergencies. Conducts health hazard assessments, drug and alcohol testing, new hire exams, surveillance programs, and periodic exams for employee groups and workplace according to regulatory and company policy/procedure. Utilizes and maintains updated, accurate, complete, and confidential record keeping system (e.g. employee medical files/records) according to regulatory requirements (FMLA/ADA/OSHA) and company policies/procedures. Responsible for assisting with various wellness programs throughout the year for company employees which focus on health promotion and disease prevention; requires interaction with vendors ; communicates employee attendance and response rate. Case management of occupational injuries and illnesses; instructs and directs employees to appropriate health care providers as necessary; initiates and submits necessary company paperwork/forms, enters appropriate information into departmental and company databases. Pre-placement exams are scheduled through Occupational Health Coordinator; Surveillance exams are scheduled on an annual basis; work is performed both on an emergency and time available basis and determined case-by-case; some programs are determined by vendor availability and schedule/ time- permitting. Attends professional conferences/meetings and re-certification programs (e.g. AED/CPR/Audiometric, etc…) as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science and (1) years of experience in a clinical environment or Associates Degree in Nursing or Licensed Practical Nurse and three (3) years of experience in a clinical environment. Active nursing license in the State is required (RN or LPN) Knowledge of Ohio Worker's Compensation process and OSHA Regulations as they apply to the occupational health setting preferred Certification or experience in Occupational Health Nursing, emergency room or hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and skill in and audiometric testing and phlebotomy. Preferred Certifications: CPR/First aid.
