Responsibilities Implement Medical Center policies and procedures necessary to insure and maintain compliance with NYSDOH, OSHA and DNV regulations and standards. Evaluate various health records including immunization and/or immunity documentation, x-ray reports, physical examinations, medical/work history, etc. to ensure compliance with Medical Center policy. Perform clinical procedures including blood and urine collection, immunization administration, vision screening, respirator fit-testing and vital signs. Maintain accurate records, both electronic and paper, on all personnel including pre-employment, annual reassessment, influenza vaccination/declination and respirator fit testing. Report, manage and document occupational exposures including Blood Borne Pathogen exposures, TB, meningitis, etc. Advise Medical Center personnel and assist in the implementation of the Drug Free Work Place policy. Input data into Employee Health electronic record. Supervise Licensed Practical Nurse and work under the direction of the Director Employee Health. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). Qualifications Minimum Education: Successful completion of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing. Minimum Experience: 3 years’ experience as a registered nurse. 1 year Occupational/Employee Health experience preferred. Required Certification/Registration: Valid and current NYS RN license. BLS certification required. Physical Requirements: Working Conditions: Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. Regularly exposed to the risk of occupational blood borne pathogen exposure via needles, sharps, etc. Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Rare lifting/assisting of patient (150 lbs or greater) in emergency situations. Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
