RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for coordinating, managing, planning and developing policies and procedures to provide high quality employee health services that meet all internal and external requirements. Through oversight by the Company Medical Director and the Corporate Safety and Health Director, development and maintain standard medical treatment protocols and equipment/supplies to support those protocols. Assures collection, monitoring and reporting of data and health information practices to assure proper custodianship of employee health records and trends analysis as well as all required regulatory reporting. Assures effective case management through excellent communication with appropriate internal (Legal, Safety and Risk groups) and external contacts, timely and relevant medical specialty assessments and organizational strategies which maximize employee health and productivity. This will include training on enhancing local medical provider interaction and relationships. Assist in the performance evaluation of the Occupational Health Departments through on-site and desk audits as well as the development and ongoing distribution of the Occupational Health scorecard. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, OSHA requirements and JBS policies. Oversee TPA administration and management of workers’ compensation claims Collect and analyze workers’ compensation data to evaluate performance of Company safety, health, and claims management goals Work closely with site teams and Third Party Administrator on new and existing WC claims Continuous communication with Risk Manager, Third Party Administrator, WC Managers, Safety Managers, Occupational Health Nurses etc. Leading claims calls with WC managers, site teams, and counsel as needed to provide meaningful direction and leadership on non-litigated and litigated claims. Audit coordination over insurance and employee benefits accounts Coordinate communication with Corporate and plant safety and operations personnel regarding compliance with new insurance programs Coordinate access to facilities as required by insurance brokers or underwriters or safety engineering/loss prevention personnel QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, with certification in Occupational or Public Health OR Master’s degree or Ph. D. in Public Health preferred. Associate of Science RN with experience considered. Five to seven years of progressive responsible professional and management experience in a large occupational or ambulatory health care facility. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse Requried 5 years’ previous experience with a Workers’ Compensation self-insured program or workers’ compensation coverage program involving large claim, multinational, high deductible (self-insured retention) multiline coverage is preferred Claims handling expertise Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with various levels of management Ability to manage competing projects while maintaining focus on “big picture” Experience with Safety and Health Data collection and system administration preferred.
