The Occupational Safety and Health Analyst supports the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Management Services (MS) office. Responsibilities Provide Health and Safety Program Development. Review existing programs, document any existing compliance gaps, and institute corrective actions. Develop a health and safety inspection checklist and inspection schedule. Conduct routine inspections, document results, and forward any compliance issues to the USAID Occupational Safety and Health Manager. Develop programmatic metrics and document programmatic achievements. Design/develop, and manage safety and health training for USAID: Training of top management officials Training of Supervisors Unit Safety and Health Representatives (USHR) Training of all other employees and employee representatives Training assistance Design/develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for each job site. Investigate any near miss, fire incident, or accident to determine the root cause of the accident. Maintain the OSHA 300 log as well as employee reports of hazards and determine if any patterns exist that can be addressed. Disseminate occupational safety and health program information. Create alternate standards. Investigate and mitigate employee reports of unsafe or unhealthful working conditions. Abate unsafe or unhealthful working conditions. Brief results of investigations to USAID leadership. Keep records and report requirements. Prohibit discrimination. Perform agency annual reports. Complete OSHA-mandated annual reports. Report and record Federal Agency Injury and Illness Information. Perform self-evaluations of USAID occupational safety and health programs. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Major study -- safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene. 3+ years of experience in or related to safety and occupational health that provided the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the position's duties. OR Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Health Physicist (CHP), or similar certification that includes successful completion of a written examination meets the requirements.
