POSITION STANDARDS Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy accredited by AOTA. Current license or
licensure eligible in New Hampshire. Age of Patients Treated:

All ages.

Current BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Physical Agent Modalities (PAM) certified POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements. Physical Activity: Must have good physical stamina. Upper Extremity: Be able to tolerate much bending, lifting, walking,
stooping, standing and desk work. Must be able to transfer patients and assist patients
with activities of daily living. Push/Pull/Lift/Carry: Ability to manipulate splinting materials. PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

 

Position Objective The staff occupational therapist evaluates and treats assigned patients referred to Occupational Therapy by their physician. Provides supervision to COTA staff.

 

Performance Expectation Evaluations Responsible for the evaluation of all patients referred to Occupational
Therapy. Responsible for the completion and submission of all reports pertaining to the
evaluation. Sees that all referral sources are advised of therapeutic POC and updates. Treatment Practices Occupational Therapy consistent with the American Occupational
Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the
department and the patient. Confers with the persons most closely associated with the management of the
patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment
modification and/or progress. Records, Reports and Communication Responsible for the preparation and submitting of department reports,
ensuring confidentiality of all records, including: Evaluation reports/summaries. Discharge reports/summaries. Progress reports to referring physicians and agencies. Current progress notes on all patients with the assigned area. Special reports as requested by the director. Daily attendance records and summaries of the same. Assists in maintaining department inventory in ordering supplies and equipment. Professional Status and Public Relations Keeps abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of Occupational
Therapy. Attends conventions, meetings or special courses whenever possible and
shares with the department personnel information gained thereby. Prepares and gives talks to community groups who have made requests for the
same. Maintains good public relations with all community sources. Participates in planning and implementing new programs in Occupational Therapy
department. Care for physical area and equipment related to Occupational Therapy and maintain
the highest level of departmental safety.
