Overview

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapist (OTR) (Pedi/OP) delivers quality therapy services to patients by performing evaluations and developing individual treatment plans and goals to maximize functional outcomes in a clinic setting.  The OTR implements the treatment program and reassesses treatment results.  The OTR is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice following the guidelines of the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy.  

Services are delivered within the framework of an interdisciplinary team approach, including the patient and significant others. These services are delivered in compliance with CommonSpirit, St. Joseph's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree In Occupational TherapyLicensed by the State of Texas in Occupational TherapyCertified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)BLS CPR certified, American Heart Association

Minimum Experience:

Pediatric Experience - Strongly Preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective CommunicationKnowledge of the principles and skills of the nursing process to provide patient care and treatment.Critical thinking skillsDemonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbalBasic Computer skills
