Occupational Therapist

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Occupational Therapist 2 to join the team within the Counseling and Therapy Department at Inova Fairfax Behavioral Health. This role will be full-time day shift: 5 days a week, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (along with required rotating weekend coverage. A compensatory day off during the week is provided in exchange for weekend work, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic).

Occupational Therapist 2 Job Responsibilities:

This position involves facilitating both group therapy sessions and conducting individual patient evaluations to assess their unique challenges and therapeutic goals. Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in patient evaluation treatment and documentation.  Functions with the knowledge and skill of an advanced clinician who is sought out by others for advice and guidance.  Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.  Provides administrative leadership within department/program, facility and/or community. Provides clinical mentoring and operational guidance, education and/or supervision to new or less experienced staff, students and support personnel.  Completes all administrative and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit. 

Additional Requirements:

Work schedule: 5 days a week, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (along with required rotating weekend coverage. A compensatory day off during the week is provided in exchange for weekend work, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic). Education: Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Therapy. Experience: Three years of experience in a clinical setting and 1 year with Inova. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association   Licensure: Occupational Therapist
