ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation, treatment, reassessment, and documentation of inpatients and outpatients. The Occupational Therapist also acts as the Activities Coordinator for the CMH Transitional Care Program. Volume in each setting depends on patient census. Occupational Therapists are also responsible for supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides. May perform home visits as needed. Job Requirements Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and families. License/Certification Must have a valid state license or valid temporary permit as an Occupational Therapist, issued by the Oregon State Occupational Therapy Licensing Board. Current BLS certification required through American Heart Association. Valid drivers’ license / comprehensive auto insurance for home visits. Current Food Handlers Certificate or able to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire. . Education and/or Experience The Occupational Therapist must have successfully completed a program culminating with a BA/BS degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school. Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance + Works inside. Walking and standing much of the time while on duty. Subject to occasional stress in fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines. Must be capable of providing treatments, some of which will require strength. Aware of proper body mechanics at all times. + Position involves standing, walking, bending, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment. + Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs, and ambulates as necessary. Must have ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
