Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose

Assess, plan and implement specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy. Provides patient care/service based on identified needs/developmental level for all patient populations.

Care/services includes recognition, monitoring and intervention as appropriate for

age-specific and/or other individual patient needs. Supervises and utilizes Occupational Therapy personnel support effectively.

Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.Evaluates assigned patients within the guidelines established by the physician and in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.Implements competent treatment and performs regular reassessments for the purpose of

treatment modification, to maximize patient’s potential for functional independence, all in accordance with departmental standards.

Completes all required documentation and maintains pertinent records of all assigned patients, in order to be in compliance with Joint Commission, CARF, Medicare, and all other regulatory requirements.Demonstrates the ability to be efficient and productive by organizing job duties and responsibilities.Maintains effective communication regarding Therapy programs and departmental issues.Maintains equipment and environment in a safe and orderly manner.Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and competency.Contributes to the organization and operation of the department/programs. Specifically towards the clinic/department that the lead therapist performs the majority of their work/patient care.Serves as an extension of the Supervisor/Manager/Director to provide leadership for day-to-day operations of the facility.The performance of a lead therapist stands out amongst colleagues at a staff level. They are an example for others to follow regarding: cancellation/no-show rates, missed visits, patient compliance, and supportive of leadership initiatives.They possess the knowledge and skills to effectively lead other staff therapists, rehab aides and other supportive roles within the span of control of a lead therapist.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor or Master in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. 

Minimum two years recent clinical experience in an environment commensurate with the practice setting and programmatic needs of the facility

Required Licensure and Certifications

OT:KY BLS-CPR

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training


Excellent verbal and written communication, good time management skills, and student or prior experience in a Rehab setting.
