Job Summary:
Assesses, plans and participates in rehabilitative programs that help restore vocational, homemaking and daily living skills, as well as general independence, to those with disability or chronic/acute illness. Assesses leisure skills, when appropriate.
Job Functions:
Provides testing and evaluation of patients' physical and mental abilities and analyzes medical data to determine realistic treatment goals.
Treat inpatient and outpatient clients as need arises.
Assesses patients' progress toward goals and adjusts plan of care as indicated.
Orders special supplies and equipment, such as splints, braces and adaptive equipment.
Directs support staff in order to achieve established patient goals.
Maintains patient records according to hospital policy and maintains all required prescriptions and signatures.
Teaches and supervises therapy students; maintains communication with clinical supervisor to enhance practicum experience.
Maintains competency and required continuing education.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
Current KY O.T. license
BLS certification through the American Heart Association
