·        Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

·        Therapy Services

       Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM; Weekend On-Call Requirement – Once a quarter (every 3 months) for 2-hours to do stroke evaluations; Holiday rotation – is rare - 1 holiday every 3rd year.

·        Supporting the 815-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Ft. Worth and surrounding community since 1930

·        Supportive team of over 40 Occupational Therapists in an acute care trauma hospital – focus on inpatient.

Here’s What You Need

·        Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.

·        No Experience required – new grads are welcome!

·        Prefer experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.

·        OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required And

·        BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.

·        Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

·        Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.

·        Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

 

What You Will Do

·        Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

·        Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

·        Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home
programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

·        Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

·        Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel

·        Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
