Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist-Pediatric is accountable for evaluating, planning, and executing all aspects of Occupational Therapy, infant through geriatric, with disabilities, disorders, and injuries to develop and restore maximal functional level.  Primary caseload in pediatrics is birth to 21. Occasional coverage for hospital patients for all other age ranges as part of a weekend/holiday rotation.   Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer’s status.  Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.   

Education and/or Experience

Master’s Degree is required. Doctorate Degree is preferred. Must be a graduate of/or certified from a curriculum of Occupational Therapy approved by the AOTA accrediting body. 0-6 months of experience is required. 1-2 years of experience is preferred.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS 

Must be licensed to practice Occupational Therapy by the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners.   BLS (Basic Life Support) is required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is preferred.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Occasional weekend and holiday This position will be part of the OT weekend (Saturday coverage) rotation at the inpatient therapy department at Avera St. Luke's Hospital several times per year. As part of the weekend holiday rotation along with all other OT staff members.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$30.25 - $45.75 per hour
