We are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes. *Hartford Hospital* Our current Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) opening is with Hartford Hospital, one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us. *Overview* Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) performs standardized assessments, provides assistance in performing structured assessments, and assists in determining, revising and implementing the treatment plan in order to restore and remediate, and to maximize function in the areas of activities of daily living, leisure/recreation, and productivity/work. The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) addresses dysfunction in psychosocial skills, cognition, and sensorimotor components. *Responsibilities:* * Assists the Occupational Therapist with aspects of patient assessment in the areas of activities of daily living, leisure/play, and productivity/work. Identifies contributing factors in the areas of psychosocial skills, cognition and sensorimotor components. Recognizes physiological, psychological, and age-related changes in the patient. * Assists with the planning of the Occupational Therapy plan of care, implements treatment by utilizing appropriate interventions and age specific treatment through selected activities and interventions.
