Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, provides occupational therapy services to patients/clients to assist in improving basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, compensating for permanent loss of function by teaching patients/clients to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. May provide treatment to patients/clients with cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction and physical disability. Assists with patient/clients and caregiver education.
Qualifications
+ Required Associate's Degree accredited therapy assistant program
+ Therapy assistance experience Preferred
+ Experience in neurological injury, TBI, and Spinal Cord injury (based on Spectrum Health entity) Preferred
+ CRT-Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified (COTA) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire required
+ CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
+ CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
+ LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Home Care Business LinesUpon Hire required
