Job Description
Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Export Department. Work with a high-volume customer handling 20,000+ shipments annually.
ResponsibilitiesApprove shipments for delivery to destination.Manage and handle cargo once it sails from the appropriate port.Enter and manage heavy documentation involving each shipment assigned.Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operational system.Track and trace Ocean Export files and reporting.Use Global Ocean Export Monitor on a daily basis.Ensure documents are timely sent and shipping notices communicated to overseas and customers.Ensure accurate and timely client and vendor billing.Interact with customers to arrange international shipments, meeting customer service standards.Maintain good relationships with suppliers including ocean carriers, trucking companies, and others involved.Meet compliance with internal and external regulations.Understand department process flow and seek best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.Ensure all customers' standard operating procedures are in place and updated in Customer SOP.Meet KPI standards in accordance with company procedures.Communicate promptly with overseas offices and respond to emails and requests.Escalate problems to management when necessary.Promote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations with outstanding integrity and pride.Meet the company's training requirements of 52 hours per year per employee.Attend and complete mandatory training classes when required.Adhere to the company's cultural attributes including professionalism, attitude, confidence, curiosity, excellence, integrity, pride, resolute, sense of humor, and visionary.Essential Skills1-3+ years of recent logistics experience. Strong data entry skills.Experience with documentation processes.Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely.Proactive with strong organizational skills.Fluent in English.Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of ocean documentation process (preferred).Hazardous Materials certification (preferred).Knowledge of Expeditors' products and services (preferred).Work Environment
Standard working hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
