Job Summary:
This role is responsible for leading the efficient procurement of ocean services required for the organization's operations, contributing to the overall success of the procurement function.
The role assumes ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous measurement, control, and enhancement of procurement processes.
The role takes the lead on cost reduction initiatives and process enhancement projects, demonstrating an innate ability to analyze underlying issues, scope projects effectively, and ensure timely execution.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provides ocean expertise for priority or new assignments with strategic implications across organization, such as leading or participating in cross-functional teams.
Focuses on development activities and introducing new processes, program solutions and methods to meet business objectives and deliver continuous improvements.
Works across cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance current business processes, focusing on particular segments.
Monitors and analyzes owned programs, procurement solutions, key metrics and process-oriented tasks and situations; focuses on improving current areas with significant independent judgment.
Develops robust mechanisms and performance metrics to scrutinize supplier performance in crucial aspects like on-time delivery, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
Engages in intricate negotiations with suppliers, focusing on achieving the lowest total cost of ownership while aligning with mutual goals and objectives.
Provides independent analytic and strategic support to drive organizational goals.
Develops and executes strategic plans and initiatives across businesses and/or geographies.
Provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level team members.
Qualifications:
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in Ocean or Logistics Industry, Logistics Procurement, Logistics Operations, or a related field.
