Gundersen Health System is recruiting for a full-time, therapeutically certified optometrist. This La Crosse, WI based position will have an emphasis on primary care, including ocular disease diagnosis, treatment, and management. The position includes general and specialty contact lenses, along with co-management of cataract and refractive surgery patients. We provide current technology which includes EPIC electronic medical records, Telehealth capabilities, imaging and data software, autorefractor, automated visual field analyzer, digital photography, OCT, corneal topography, and pachymetry.
Support staff team members include patient liaisons, certified refracting ophthalmic technicians, and ABO certified opticians. Residency training and/or experience is preferred but not required. The Eye Department at Gundersen consists of 26 optometrists and eleven ophthalmologists. In addition to Onalaska, we have our main Ophthalmology clinic on the Gundersen Medical Center campus in La Crosse, along with eye clinics located in twelve surrounding communities within our Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota service area. Subspecialty services include retina, glaucoma, cornea, pediatrics, oculoplastics, and refractive surgery.
American Board of Optometry certification must be attained within three years of hire.
Must have completed an accredited program and be eligible to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Clinician staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system. Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all clinicians.
