OEM Logistics Specialist
OEM Logistics Specialist Starting Pay $20 Job Description This position is responsible for the cleanliness, inventory compliance and readiness of all AMR Office of Emergency Management (OEM) vehicles and special equipment. Responsible for assisting with supply procurement, inventory management, record maintenance, equipment distribution, and stock rotation needed for contract compliance as well as additional equipment and supplies to support AMR. During deployments employee will likely travel to austere environments and/or remain at cache sites for extended periods with little to no notice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in designated jurisdiction: Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using computer. Prepares and distributes pre-packaged deployment “go-kits” or “jump-kits” needed for rapid deployment. Stocks vehicles in preparation for deployment at respective cache to pre-determined stock levels. Charging of vehicle batteries within respective cache. Road testing of cache vehicles. This is to include warning lights, driving lights, horns, patient compartment lights, etc. Washing of cache vehicles. Performs terminal cleaning and restocking of units returned from deployment. Performs inventory on medical supplies and stocks, as necessary. Writing equipment failure reports on units in need of maintenance. Records mileage monthly. Record serial numbers of stretchers, radios, etc. Performs routine checks and preparation of biomedical equipment and may perform minor troubleshooting procedures on equipment such as EKG devices and stretchers. Generates equipment failure reports as needed. Maintains and checks communications equipment as directed. Cleans and performs upkeep within the OEM cache areas. If cache has generators or other non-vehicle combustion engines, runs per the maintenance program of the device. Makes routine checks of vehicles, equipment, building and systems, and completes reports/forms as required. Due to unpredictability of an EMS organization, it is not always possible to guarantee consistent work hours or meal and break periods. Employees in this position may be required to work extended shifts in extraordinary situations and must be available for recall in when deemed necessary. Actively Rotates and tracks expiration dates on medical supplies with a shelf life. Maintains the Shelter Kits pursuant of the FEMA Contract and any other equipment or supplies required. Works with local Operations and other enterprise-wide logistics & fleet personnel to identify them and coordinate their integration into the cache site for acute situations where additional cache site personnel are needed. May be required to travel to other sites to perform related duties, possibly for extended periods of time. Maintains specialized support vehicles/tractor trailers/trailers. Provide a safe working environment and implement safe working conditions. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain positive relationships and communication with vendors and employees. Physical Requirements Required to meet lifting and other physical requirements of the Core Job Functions and Qualifications Standards for field employees as outlined in the Safety Risk Manual. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to work in non-climate-controlled buildings, which can be extremely hot or cold. Qualifications: Ability to access/enter government buildings/properties to include military bases as needed for job duties. High School Diploma. Valid Driver’s License. Must have an acceptable driver history as determined by the company and outlined in the If required by the State, must possess a Class D driver’s license or similar. Must have the ability to report for duty within 6 hours for extended periods of time up to 30 days. Complete following ICS courses within 1 year of hire: a. ICS 100.b – Introduction to Incident Command. b. ICS 200.b – Basic Incident Command System. c. ICS 300 - Intermediate Incident Command System. d. ICS 400 – Advanced Incident Command System. e. ICS 700.a – NIMS Introduction. f. ICS 800.b – National Response Framework, Introduction. g. Professional Development Series – FEMA Emergency Management Institute h. FEMA IS 27 – FEMA Logistics Must have reliable transportation to and from work available 24 hours per day and 365 days per year. Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Required Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of mechanical workings of automobiles, engines, and possess general mechanical aptitude. Fundamental use of shop equipment and power tools. Be familiar with supplies carried on an ambulance. Basic knowledge of inventory, supply chain logistics, and efficient rotation methods. Must be knowledgeable and experienced with the use of Microsoft Office programs, with special emphasis on Excel, Teams, Smartsheet’s and inventory programs. Able to prioritize, multitask, and problem solve. Basic math and data analysis skills. Preferred Knowledge and Skills: Possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Has experience driving large vehicles. Experience deploying to disaster zone as current ERT member, military member, or other similar organization. Emergency Medical Services experience (VST, EMR, EMT, Paramedic). Experience in materials management or supply chain management. Forklift operator certification.
