The individual must be knowledgeable, professional, and able to work with a medical team and educate students on managing their health care. **Minimum Qualifications** + Knowledge of medical terminology skills, including training or experience with medical claims documentation. + Understanding of medical claims, including medical billing and coding terminology sufficient to draft related documents and correspondence with accuracy and maintain records. + Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals; calculate percentages and; and use simple formulas to process accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing. + Communicate effectively with internal and external customers + Word Processing skills sufficient to prepare memos, reports, invoices, financial statements and other documents. + Spreadsheets skills sufficient to enter data, modify, develop and update spreadsheets. + Customer Service Skills (phone, in person) sufficient to respond to e-mail, telephone and in person questions, inquiries and requests in a timely, professional manner. **Preferred Qualification** + Experience in medical billing or coding. + Experience working in a healthcare setting. + Experience working with electronic medical records. + Demonstrated interpersonal skills working in a service environment. Communication skills sufficient to work with a diverse population and obtain necessary information to assist with complex insurance and sensitive health-related issues and questions. + Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while remaining detail-oriented. Experience working with confidential and technical medical information and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. **Other Requirements** Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
