**Job Summary**
The Department of Biochemistry, consistently ranked among the top 10 basic science departments in the nation, upholds a standard of excellence in research, education, and professional integrity. We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to join our team as a Manager of Office Services. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of administrative and office services while fostering a collaborative and positive workplace environment.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. They should be customer service-oriented, possess excellent interpersonal abilities, and demonstrate a high level of accountability and integrity in all professional interactions.

**Responsibilities**

+ Oversee and manage administrative and office services to ensure a well-organized and efficient work environment.
+ Supervise and support administrative staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and accountability.
+ Develop, implement, and enforce office policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Manage office budgets, expenses, and supply inventory, ensuring cost-effective procurement and timely replenishment.
+ Oversee scheduling and calendar management for senior leaders, coordinating meetings and logistics.
+ Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including access management and departmental integration.
+ Maintain ethical and transparent interactions with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
+ Monitor and maintain office equipment, ensuring functionality and resolving issues as needed.
+ Coordinate travel arrangements for staff and students, maintaining accurate travel records and resolving related inquiries.
+ Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as needed for leadership.
+ Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the office.
+ Approve financial transactions with diligence and responsibility.
+ Manage building maintenance requests and develop an emergency preparedness plan for the department.
+ Demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and take full ownership of assigned responsibilities, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department.
Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required.
Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

+ Proven track record in office management or a similar administrative leadership role.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
+ Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
+ Familiarity with project management tools.
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred but not required).
+ Commitment to ethical conduct, accountability, and maintaining a positive work environment.
