No If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary This position will directly support undergraduate and graduate Admissions application processing, communication and recruitment efforts. As an admissions office clerical team member, this position works with other office staff in support of the college mission and to ensure continuity of operational success. This may include assisting with bulk mailings, coverage of the front desk, downloading of applications, monitoring of materials inventory and assistance with priority projects for both graduate and undergraduate admissions operations. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Experience Cortland dives deep into the region’s offerings Major Responsibilities Manage and troubleshoot the undergraduate and graduate admissions application load processes. Provide support for admissions travel and budget/procurement processing. Support the clerical processing of undergraduate and graduate admissions applications, materials and outreach. Includes loading of application documents from Common App and generation of Control lists from both Common App and SUNY Application. Support all data entry into the Student Information System (Banner), CRM (Slate) and ECM (Onbase). Learn all of the sub-routines related to first-year, transfer and graduate application processing. Provide support to the front desk receptionist when necessary. Assist with management of emails sent to admissions@cortland.edu inbox. Correspond/interact with prospective students and parents via email, telephone and in-person during campus recruitment events. Support marketing and communication efforts for prospective student outreach and on-campus events. Functional and Supervisory Relationships This position reports to Jillian Tucker, Associate Director of Admissions Required Qualifications 1. Permanent Competitive Appointment Option:
Eligible List Appointment: Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for this title. If you are on the Civil Service eligible list for this title, you may receive a canvass letter via email. You must record your response via NY.gov and follow instructions in the canvass email.
Section 70.1 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in one of the following titles: Administrative Assistant 1 series, Office Assistant 2 series, Library Assistant 1 and/or Payroll Assistant.
2. Non-Competitive Appointment Option: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a permanent, non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
NON-COMPETITIVE QUALIFICATIONS- To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, or 55 b/c, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position.
This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.
The qualifications are: One year of clerical experience.
