Office Coordinator
Position Summary Provides secretarial/clerical support to the Radiation Oncology Glasgow office, to ensure cost effective measures of operations, to optimize lines of communication and provide support to the department. Facilitates the workflow of the department. Minimum Qualifications Work Experience Previous administrative support experience preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  Answers incoming phone calls and greets visitors to the department within a timely fashion.  Determines nature of call/visit and provides appropriate response or guidance.  Refers more complex issues appropriately.  Takes message and/or refers visitor/caller to appropriate person. Prepares and/or assists with preparation of miscellaneous correspondence/documents (letters, minutes, charts, agreements, reports).  Provides general clerical support to include distribution of materials, filing, faxing and copying.  Assists with the completion and distribution of incident reports. Coordinates and prepares for numerous standing and called meetings. Assists with meeting arrangements to include scheduling, reserving meeting rooms, sending out meeting announcements, etc. Maintains necessary documentation to meet regulatory requirements. Develops and maintains departmental filing system. Orders and maintains adequate office supplies, forms and equipment with appropriate consent and within budget constraints. Registers patients for Radiation Oncology treatments. Interviews patients in a courteous and expeditious manner to obtain required demographic and insurance data.  Verifies information already on file and accurately enters or updates required information in the computer system Obtains insurance authorizations, if necessary and completes necessary documentation.  Calls for pre-certification and benefit information. Collects monies such as deductibles, co-pays, deposits and self-pay balances.
