The candidate selected will be the Office 4for4 champion (quality, schedule, budget, client satisfaction) for $500+ million value of active project portfolio in HNTB’s largest office. Leveraging the proven HNTB Delivery processes noted below, exhibits strong results orientation to:

• ensure projects are planned to allow for successful delivery
• proactively identify project delivery challenges
• decisively engage relevant parties to quickly resolve identified issues

Responsible for oversight of Office Quality Manager and Quality system. Works closely with Office Operations, Contracting Managers and Finance Managers to identify issues, engage PMs for constructive solutions, and identify & communicate inconsistencies and/or related issues to office leadership.

Assesses validity of project work plans including schedule, budget, and staffing including Project Managers and Principals in Charge. Engages internal resources as necessary when required.

Organizes, builds, and delivers through a team that includes an Office Delivery Coordinator and Department Delivery Leads, as well as members of Finance and Quality teams. Coaches and develops Delivery Leads and Project Managers. Enforces Delivery Standards of Performance (SOPs) and the Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA). Maintains and improves Delivery processes. Supports office budgeting and reporting process by providing timely, accurate information related to performance for the entire portfolio of projects.

What You’ll Do:

Implement and own the Life-Cycle Tiger Team process within the local office.  Initiate and facilitate office-led work planning efforts (Draft and Contract Work Planning) for select projects.  Participate in corporate and division led Tiger Team sessions held in the local office, including supporting pre-work and setup activities.Conduct and participate in Monthly Project Reviews as required by the Project Review SOP.  Monitor follow-up and completion of action items as required.Champion and enforce Delivery Standards of Performance (SOP's) and the Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) in the local office.Review and approve all project management plans and work plans in the office for SOP compliance.Assist project teams as necessary with resource and technology acquisition for project delivery, subcontracting efforts and inter-office agreements.Train, coach and assist Department Managers and Project Managers in work planning and other Project Management Plan component development and implementationProvide direct engagement and support for any recovery or containment plan actions for projects in the office.Other duties as required or as assigned by the Office Leader or Direct Supervisor.

What You’ll Need:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or relevant field and 7 years of Project Management experienceIn lieu of degree, 11 years of project management experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Proven ability to enhance processes to deliver improved efficiency and resultsProven ability to identify and resolve issues in a cross-functional fast-paced environmentProven results orientation with desire and ability to coach and mentor staffProven ability to communicate and effectively escalate issues requiring senior management attentionSignificant understanding of HNTB's Project Management and Financial systems and reporting capabilities.Basic understanding of operating budgets and operations/business practices.Proven experience in planning, sales, and contracting especially as they pertain to delivering projects.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Familiarity with Quality Management Systems related to Engineering/Design10 years of successful project management experienceIn lieu of education, 14 years of successful project management experienceBasic understanding of HNTB's other three primary business processes:  Planning, Sales, and Contracting.

The approximate pay range for New York is $176,192.06 - $351,812.06. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
