We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Brussels. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Office Manager for the Benelux region will oversee all back-office activities for the Belgian legal entity of Guy Carpenter & Co. SA. This role involves collaborating with central group services located in the Benelux region or abroad, including controllership, finance, treasury, facilities, IT, and HR. The Office Manager will be responsible for fiduciary and statutory accounting, as well as controlling functions. Acting as a liaison to the local CEO, this position will manage day-to-day office operations and ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders. It does also involve supervision and guidance of 1 team member.
We will count on you to:
Accounting & Finance:
Manage statutory and fiduciary accounting tasks not handled centrally by MMC.
Oversee monthly closings for activities not managed by the MMC Belgium controllership team.
Serve as the single point of contact for external and internal auditors.
Follow up on bad debts and manage relationships with external providers, including purchase order creation, management, and payment validation.
Data & Reporting:
Work with broking teams to prepare data for budget and business reviews, as well as for ad hoc requests.
Liaise with the European Finance Team in London and client service team in Rotterdam to review revenue monthly.
Act as the first point of contact for employees on day-to-day matters, ensuring effective communication.
Project Coordination :
Work on specific Benelux & European projects and coordinate compliance requests.
Serve as the Business Resilience Management (BRM) coordinator for business continuity planning.
Operational Efficiency:
Focus on operational matters and improvement solutions, generating operational efficiencies.
Draft and implement policies and procedures to enhance office management.
Team Supervision :
Supervise one staff member, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
What you need to have:
Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial sector, with knowledge of insurance or reinsurance being a plus.
Strong financial and controlling background.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of Salesforce and SAP is a plus
Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch and/or French (at least passive understanding).
