Job Description
The intern for the Office of the COO will gain exposure to all areas of hospital operations through shadowing opportunities and special projects. The operational priorities for 2025 that the intern will have an opportunity to contribute to include, developing a plan for expanding inpatient bed capacity, creating plans for expanding the pediatric critical care and neonatology physician groups, and improving outpatient access to pediatric specialists. The intern will have insight into how operations partners with other areas of the organization including finance and the Office of the Pediatrician-in-Chief.Project/position description:
Clean and reconcile all Operations FTE positions based on what is budgeted vs. what is open as a requisition.
Assessment of needs for Division Chief administrative support.
Create the monthly report that the Office of the COO distributes to the Executive Team.
Contribute to the weekly report that the COO team creates for the Chief Operating Officer.
Other projects to be determined.
Education
College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field, required

Progression toward a graduate degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Job Responsibilities

Creates and carries out a cohesive plan for each assigned project. Establishes and maintains contact with all appropriate individuals to ensure that the plan is implemented in the best interest of the organization.
Executes administrative and operational tasks for assigned projects.
Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided and projects produced.
Understands and complies with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations, while meeting all in-service requirements as outlined per policy.
