Office Services Custodian
As a key member of GFL’s dynamic team, the Office Services Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the day-to-day responsibilities within Office Services, specifically focusing on all the overall cleanliness of the facility and the mailroom function. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This position requires an enthusiastic individual who presents themselves professionally, with a positive attitude and very high attention to detail



 

Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and maintain office kitchens, and other common areas throughout each

day, collect/rinse dishware, load/unload dishwashers, and wipe down counter

tops to ensure a clean and sanitary environment
• Sweep kitchen floors and wipe down tables and chairs
• Check and dispose of expired food and beverages in all refrigerators daily and

thoroughly clean and wipe down the kitchen equipment
• Maintain coffee machine refills and upkeep
• Monitor inventory levels for kitchen and cleaning supplies, replenish and place

orders as required with appropriate vendors
• Perform daily detailed cleaning and disinfection of general office areas, using

eco-friendly products and green methods
• Clean and dust furniture, pictures, chairs, light fixtures, and clean glass interi-

ors
• Maintain cleanliness of meeting rooms, ensuring white boards are clean and

all necessary supplies and materials are available
• Coordinate desk setup and welcome packages for new employees
• Receive, sort, and distribute all inbound mail/courier envelopes and packages on a timely basis
• Prepare and ship all outgoing packages using preferred method of shipment,

weighing mail, and applying appropriate postage and shipment documentation
• Operate mailroom equipment such as folder/inserter, postage machines andscanners
• Track, trace and resolve any mail or courier issues
• Support with the execution of office events
• General tasks and office duties as assigned


Candidate Profile:
• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience in office environments
• Great spoken and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
• Basic computer skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Outlook
• Self-starter, ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and proactive problem-solver
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Desire to learn and take on new responsibilities
