The incumbent will be responsible for efficiently underwrite the risk business for Cigna within the established framework, ensuring adherence to Cigna’s underwriting philosophy, guidelines and regulatory requirements.

This role is a member of the Underwriting Team contributing to the business growth and reputation of the company.  This incumbent will be required to provide high-quality underwriting support to distribution channels with close engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

To assess applications within underwriting authority and service standards, in alignment with company’s philosophy, underwriting guidelines and compliance requirements.

To communicate with distribution channels effectively to ensure the smooth flow of business.

To contribute to an efficient and effective underwriting service by seeking and providing assistance to both internal and external customers whenever required.

To assist in preparation of departmental management reports.

To participate in ad hoc tasks, such as guideline maintenance and User Acceptance Testing etc, as assigned by the Manager.

Job Requirements:

Degree holder with a minimum 1 years’ medical underwriting experience

Excellent communication/interpersonal/telephone skills

Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external customers.

Strong time management and prioritization skills

Enthusiastic with a positive attitude

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

Computer literacy
