Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Oil and Fuel Lab Technician who will be responsible for conducting various tests and analyses on oil and fuel samples that support production engine tests, developmental tests, and off-site customer requests. The role requires proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring cleanliness, and adhering to ASTM standards. Lean training and a background in chemistry are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment including but not limited to:CalorimeterScanning Electron Microscope (SEM)Particle count machineHydrogen analysis equipmentSulfur analysis equipmentViscometerFlash point testerAcid digestion apparatusParticle analysis toolsWater analysis (Karl Fischer titration)Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of all laboratory equipment and workspaces.Understand and apply ASTM standards in all testing procedures.Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports for publication.Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tests.Maintain accurate records of all tests and analyses performed.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean training programs.Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.

Qualifications:

Associate's or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in oil and fuel analysis.Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.Strong understanding of ASTM standards and testing procedures.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Lean training and certification is a plus.Experience with data analysis software.Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).Knowledge of safety and quality standards in a laboratory environment.

Working Conditions:

Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and testing equipment.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.May require occasional lifting of equipment or samples.
