The OME Test Stand Project Manager will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas. \n
\n
RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nPerform project management and engineering functions for development of an Orion Main Engine (OME) hot fire test stand including requirements development, hardware development, manufacturing\/procurement, assembly, and test.\nManage the engineering team for the development of a test stand - Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support.\nOversee and develop schedules (MS Project and Smartsheet), procedures, work instructions and process flows.\nDevelop risks and risk mitigation plans for rollup into the higher-level risk system.\nInteract frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA System Managers, and operational customers.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

REQUIRED:\n

\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information. \nRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering.\nMust have 5+ years of recent and related work experience. \nRelated experience in managing and leading engineering projects. License or certification is a plus.\nExperience in liquid propulsion engines and testing.\nExperience managing and leading engineering projects.\nExperience with financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating.\nAbility to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.\nAbility to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion.\nKnowledge and understanding of MS Project and Smartsheet tools.\nKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, materials, environmental testing, and office software.\n\n

DESIRED:\n\n10+ years of experience in project management for mid-level projects.\n5+ years of propulsion design and testing experience.\nGeneral knowledge of structures and test stands.\nGeneral knowledge of systems engineering through education or work experience.\nKnowledge of flight hardware and\/or flight processes\/paperwork.\nExperience with NASA processes.\n\n

WORK LOCATION: \n\nThis position is located onsite. \nThis position offers a 9\/80 schedule, every other Friday off.\nThis position may require some travel. \n\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
