SET THE COURSE

The Omni Merchant is responsible for developing and executing the business strategy for a specific product category, focusing on product selection, assortment planning, pricing, and promotion. This role aims to enhance the brand's presence and profitability across both physical and online stores, ensuring delivery of the right product, in the right place, at the right time. The Omni Merchant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to anticipate consumer demand, ensuring that products not only meet but exceed guest expectations, thus driving growth.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

Responsible for creating seasonal line plans that align with the divisional strategy, to achieve key performance indicators such as topline sales, gross and net margins, and inventory productivity goals across direct-to-guest channels.

Selects the right product, for the right place at the right time. Ensure selection meets climate, geographical, and guest profiles as well as capacity limitations in stores.

Plans and clearly articulates departmental strategy at the style/color and store level, in partnership with Planning and Inventory Teams.

Understand and utilize eCommerce merchandising KPIs and applies data to make informed product decisions for growth in the online channel.

Drive departmental pricing strategies for owned categories. This includes conducting competitive and market price benchmarking, performing good/better/best analyses to achieve effective pricing and promotional strategies that maximize sales and profitability.

Manages product inventory levels by making informed purchasing decisions. Accountable for the quantity of products bought, sold, and liquidated to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory. The merchant must analyze sales data, forecast demand, and implement effective strategies to balance supply with guest demand, ensuring profitability and efficient inventory turnover.

Conducts pre-season and in-season analysis to respond to sales trends and optimize business performance. Additionally, track and analyze gross margins, GMROI, turn, markdowns, and AUR.

Identifies both immediate and long-term opportunities within the business and proactively collaborates with cross-functional partners to drive results.

“Student of the Market & Voice of the Guest” Brings deep knowledge and nuanced understanding of our target guest through regional and store feedback, store visits, ratings and reviews, market data, and guest segmentation.

Present and articulate product strategy to Executive leaders and Cross-Functional partners, including Creative & Marketing, Store Visual, eCommerce, Learning & Development.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

Bachelors’ degree (in Business, Marketing or related field), or relevant experience.

6+ years merchant experience, preferably in an omni channel retail environment.

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.

Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.

Rate Range: $76,000 to $128,253 annually.
