On-Site Engineer
HDR is currently looking for an On-Site Engineer/ Representative for a large data center that will be constructed in the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville, Indiana.The individual will be employed by HDR Engineering, the prime design consultant and Engineer of Record.The position does not involve inspection or contractor management but serves as a liaison between the owner, design team, and general contractor regarding construction issues as they relate to design changes needed. The individual will facilitate information flow from the construction team to the design team and support the owner, contractor, project team, and others performing work on the project.

The individual will be working at the Jeffersonville, Indiana project site full time.Construction activities will begin June 2024.

Responsibilities:

The individual will be the single point of communication during the construction phase and must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

proficient in design and construction document management and revision controlable to determine if the work is proceeding in substantial conformity with the design planscapable of providing design document review and coordination across multiple design disciplineshaving experienced-based knowledge of specifications and when it is appropriate or necessary to elevate issues to the design teamhaving an understanding of the building, fire, mechanical, plumbing and electrical codes as well as seismic and sway (anchorage and bracing) requirementspossessing excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate daily communication with the owner, design team, and contractorthe ability to work in the field to perform observation and other construction phase services safely and independentlyflexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities of the owner

Preferred Qualifications:

10 years of experience on large vertical and building construction type projects of a similar nature is preferredEIT/PEData center experience is preferred but not a requirement for this positionPrevious construction experience with a consulting firmAbility to interpret construction schedulesAble to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineering team and align with any construction changesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experienceDemonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projectsMust have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing constructionMust possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documentsMust be able to work in a team environmentMust be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages Must have excellent verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
