Onboarding Specialist

Geotab is seeking an Onboarding Specialist who will help design, implement and deliver learning programs for our virtual Geotab global onboarding program. These modules will be used to onboard, train and upskill new employees, existing employees, interns and leaders throughout the organization. What you'll do:

As an Onboarding Specialist, you will collaborate with stakeholders and business partners to develop onboarding solutions that align with business needs and learning objectives. This position will identify and analyze the skills, performance and knowledge gaps to create effective onboarding programs.

How you'll make an impact

Coordinate, develop, facilitate and implement globally aligned onboarding programs for all audiences including full-time, interns, and executives. 

Deliver and facilitate training via Google Meet and/or in-person, as required, and one-on-one training if necessary.

Support the design and development of the interactive learning content for remote training, including lesson plans, facilitator guides, participant materials, videos, practical exercises, engaging activities, training handouts and evaluations.

Ensure all onboarding content is current, engaging, and aligned with Geotab’s branding, while also regularly updating recurring learning materials to reflect changes in programs, products, services, procedures, and technology.

Work with tight deadlines and provide valuable input on projects to enhance and customize training processes that exceed operational needs.

Develop effective project plans to facilitate the building of learning programs and curriculum to close gaps identified.

Determine the overall effectiveness of programs, make recommendations for improvements, and implement changes, as required. 

Create engaging learning content, activities, and compelling course curriculum through the application of adult instructional design principles.

Provide opportunities for practice and activities that enhance the learning process combined with supporting material/media (audio, video, role-plays, games, etc.) to foster an effective and hands-on learning environment.

Devise assessments, such as tests or knowledge checks and feedback forms, to measure the effectiveness of the programs along with suggestions and recommendations on how to leverage that data to improve the efficacy of learning content.

Collaborate with key business partners and teams to research, recommend appropriate tools or training as well as coordinate and schedule training-related events.

What you'll bring to the role

3-5 years of experience in corporate learning and onboarding.

Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree Specialization in Adult Learning, Learning and Development or a related field.

Experience in facilitating training, presentations, and group activities.

Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory.

Passion for teaching, motivating and coaching, with the ability to create and sustain strong working partnerships with all stakeholders across the organization.

Excellent organizational skills, high attention to quality, detail and accuracy, combined with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks.

Flexible and adaptable, able to embrace and champion change at short notice.

Team player with high energy, enthusiasm & proactive approach to problem-solving.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to train different audiences effectively.

Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.

Strong analytical skills with proven problem solving and decision-making capability.

Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.

Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills.

Experience working with a fast-paced global team.

Experience working within a technical organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.

Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
